Duties
This is a Permanent Seasonal position. This position will perform under the general supervision of a Supervisory Forester and will be responsible for the fieldwork involved with the Forest Development activities that may include planning, site preparation and pre-commercial thinning. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Marking trees for cutting, and pre-commercial thinning.
- Assisting foresters and technicians with the collections of field data.
- Locating protective buffers around environmentally sensitive areas and archaeological sites.
- Protecting soil, watershed, wildlife habitat and other forest resources while conducting forest development activities.
- Assisting with vehicle maintenance, vehicle assignments and vehicle reports.
This position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date. Applications will be reviewed every two weeks; the first cut-off date for applications is 10 business days from the opening date and every two weeks thereafter. Applicants with 10-point Veterans’ Preference who submit a complete application after each two-week cut-off date, but before the List of Eligible(s) is issued, will be considered and referred on the List, if qualified. Applications will remain active for 3 months.
